Volume Replacement

A loss of facial volume can cause a face to appear older and thin. The once plump youthful look is replaced with a sunken, more skeletal face shape. The loss of volume causes the skin to sag and wrinkles to form. There are many reasons that a full and round face shape can begin to lose volume. A loss of fat in the facial region can happen due to the natural ageing process, weight loss, a shift in hormone levels, exposure to UV rays, smoking, injury, along with certain medical conditions that necessitate the consumption of specific medicines that prompt volume loss.

Facial volume loss can make individuals appear older, but there are many effective ways to combat the signs of facial ageing. The TGA (Therapeutic Goods Act) has changed the regulations on advertising treatments with the use of prescription medications (such as schedule 4 medications). We are no longer able to use the words anti-wrinkle or filler. After a thorough consultation process with Janelle, a personalised treatment plan can be made in accordance with these regulations.
